Journal Square

Journal Square like most of Jersey City had seen better days until a few years ago when various builders started renovating and knocking down numerous of the old run down buildings within the city. Like most people I am amazed at the differences I see throughout the city. Downtown Jersey City has had the most aggressive redevelopement but Journal Square is slowly but surely having it's reface. There are numerous buildings throughout Journal Square that have been gutted, knocked down, or had "cosmetic work" done. A few of these properties have kept some of the original architecture so you have a little "old world charm" with the new updated amenities. Journal Square offers a wide range of properties depending on your style and "pockets". There are some complexes that have all the "bells and whistles" like the M650 but you also have some smaller walk-ups that will still give you the granite counters, hardwood floors, new cabinets, etc within a comfortable budget.

Journal Square has the Path Station as well as buses to provide you with an easy commute. This is a big factor to many people  who buy into the neighborhood. The city has plans on the table to try to totally redevelope Journal Square. The want to knock down buildings and put up some hi rise bldgs. Some people are for the idea but you have others at this time that are skeptical. They are having public meetings to go over this potential project. There are numerous articles on this topic.
