The town of Secaucus is located in Hudson County within 10 miles of New York City. Secaucus is also conveniently located close to major highways (i.e NJ Turnpike, GS Pkwy, Rt. 3) and airports (i.e Newark and within 15min drive to Teteboro). Previously the town had a small train station but now NJ Transit built a new and larger station. It is a transfer station which gives more destination options to the commuter. There are NJ Transit buses as well. NJ Transit is extending the train line from the Secaucus Transfer Station to the Giant Stadium and new Xanadu complex (completion in 2009).
Most people hear Secaucus, NJ and they think of the Outlets and Expo Center but Secaucus has so much more than shopping to offer. Secaucus is the home of WWOR-TV, the men's soccer team MetroStars, and the new home of the Major League Baseball (MLB). The MLB took over the MSNBC building since they now have their own baseball channel. Putting the industry aside, Secaucus has a friendly small town community feel with a population of approximately 15,000. As far as residences, Secaucus has something for most people(almost everyone). There are single family, multi family, condominiums and townhouses. In the town there are new complexes and new houses as well as long time established residences.
Secaucus has numerous day care centers throughout the town including one day care center run by the town. The town wanted to provide residents with professional but affordable service. The public schools are ranked well. Secaucus has two elementary schools, Huber St. & Clarendon, as well as a middle and high school. The school district also has a pre-k program which not all towns have but if you work full time you may want to keep your child in day care.
